Is it intended that next year's (Portuguese? ) trip will take in Le Mans Classic too - and as such dictate the dates we'll be away?

If so, it coincides with Wimbledon and a nice little earner for me... though it would include my birthday as in 2016

Yeah, that is the plan at the moment...
Means the Do Porto Blatt (or what ever it ends up being called...) will probably be from something like the 26th June -> 10th July?
(As per 2016, staying over Monday for a great slap-up lunch at Le Manoir Saint Quentin again!)
But, only doing a couple of days at Classic Le Mans.

Thoughts?

A quick route plot suggests the following...

Do Porto Blatt

Approx. 1700 miles.
That suggests 7 or 8 days actual driving, with 6 or 7 rest days, based on 200/250 miles per day when driving.

Works for me

This could be an alternative for the Northern Spain section of the blatt?

Vamos la malta!... Sorry got a bit carried away.

Hello! Portuguese guy here... Can I have a link or a GPX file of that route?

Am I to assume that the red "pins" are overnight places?

How much driving would you like to do in the Douro?

Have any of you seen this month's Lowflying? My car and I are in it

No actual route/stop points as yet...
That map is just a rough guide to start things off!
(Many of us are not 7 Club members (Le BOG Club is the key here...), but we have seen the Portugal story )

We'll be interested in any thoughts you have!

Will try to plot something for the Portuguese side.

Depending on how plans go, I can also try and advise on wine tasting places (we have Port Wine, regular wine and sparkling wine in the same region so...) and accommodation.

WOW!
a full two (plus?) weeks away...
after last year, the driving : resting ratio looks sensible but the initial/intended say, 200 miles between stops often became 250 after TeaBag added the wiggly bits - so is it better to aim for 120-150 per day (ie end up with 200 in reality) or will that elongate the trip?
(potential sacrilege but... not bothered about going to Le Mans though by the end of this trip I will undoubtably be desperate for a decent pint of Pride - which Le Bounty offers!)

(need a Spanish flag emoji please Le Prez!)

First draft... I can get this in KML, KMZ, GPX and some other file types for those who use satnav.

It says 505.15 KM or 11h driving... which means that it can be divided in two or three driving days, depending on how many miles you wish to cover.

Also some of the route might be adjusted as I included some sightseeing viewpoints.

I will try and do all the roads so I can confirm they are still Seven suitable... Besides the odd cobble stones towns, villages and hamlet "centres", I can only remember of about 16 km of rough tarmac in all but, the rewards are well worth it, IMHO. Anyway, I will always check the roads, closer to your trip.
