Cheers Paul, thanks a lot for writing up such comprehensive notes. I'll have another go at trying to get it to work.

Hi Paul, have tried again but still no joy. Here are my observations/questions:

- I'm experimenting with the 7 day free trial to check it works before purchasing - could this be an/the issue?
- In Dropbox, it creates the Sygic All Regions folder but instead of 'Sygic All Regions/Res/Itinerary' I get 'Apps' open 'Sygic All Regions/Res/db'. I've tried uploading the route into the 'db' folder and also manually added the 'Itinerary' folder and then placed the route into both of these folders but still nothing.

What do you think?

If Captain Plugwash doesn't get his electrics sorted rather soon, we'll be leaving him at the Wheatsheaf...

HI David,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I was somewhat tied up yesterday. Anyway, strange you don't see the Itinerary folder in Dropbox. I assume you're definitely using IPhone app not Android and have the latest app installed, I'm using v 14.0.0

I can only suggest that if you haven't already, then create a route and save it. This should save to the same directory that Dropbox sync routes to and should be visivble in 'Settings/Route/Load Route' in Sygic, so once populated it may force Sygic to create the Itinerary folder. Give it a go and see how you get on.
The complete list of folders I get in Dropbox are:-

Apps/Sygic All regions/Map/rupi/gbr
Apps/Sygic All Regions/Res/db
Apps/Sygic All Regions/Res/icons/rupi
Apps/Sygic All Regions/Res/itinerary

Hi Paul, no problem.

I've tried creating a test route on the Sygic app on my iPhone and sure enough it has now appeared in the Dropbox folder 'Itineray' that I manually added - so success (well 50% success). The itf route which I want to upload though still isn't appearing in Sygic

Any other suggestions?

Hi David,

NOTE: Sygic has just issued a new version on iTunes this morning it looks a bit fresher but DO NOT UPDATE!!! Keep your old version. A lot of the functionality appears to haves been removed. I thought they had done away with importing your own routes but I found my routes in a new 'Favourite's' list but the file names have been changed and now listed as first and last waypoint rather than a file name I gave them ??? Also it seems you are limited to only 5 WAYPOINTS which is complete rubbish. I've sent a snot-a-gram to Sygic support asking what they've e done so I see if I ever get a reply.

Also can't find any way of actually saving a route planned on the new Sygic and I used to be able to create my own customer sounds on imported POI's that also seems to have been removed so all in all really crap update !! and if this is the way forward I wouldn't bother buying it if you haven't already as it doesn't do what we want it to any longer.

Anyway, back to your problem.
It's a step forward if you can see route in your Dropbox folder from Sygic but strange you can't do it the other way round. Not sure if this is a Sygic issue or Dropbox but I would guess some kind of connection setup issue maybe. Luckily last night I made a list of the connection settings I had on my app before I made the mistake of updating which I've listed below, this may help you to identify any differences in our setups maybe. The only other thought I had is that I don't know if you need an account with Sygic for the import to work. It states you need an account for traffic info and other downloads so maybe it's needed for all downloads even Dropbox ??? I have an account which might explain why mine works and yours doesn't, so something to ponder over.

Connection Settings :-
1. Connection – ON
2. Account Options – Select Sygic. Login (email address ) is populated and a p/w present (see above Not sure if this is necessary for Dropbox syncing?.
3. Sign In Automatically – ON
4. Ask Before Connecting – OFF
5. Synchronize your favourite POI's, history, favourite home location and Save route to Cloud - TICK DROPBOX not iCloud.

Hope this helps

Paul

Cheers Paul, I'll have another look at the settings, pretty sure I set up a Sygic account when I first opened the app.

In the meantime I've been playing about with CoPilot and with the exception of having to manually input all the waypoints I've managed to sort some of the other issues - so it looks like Carl may well be right about Sygic!
