Driving through town

'Morning!

My personal experience... I have been using myrouteapp.com, Gold version.

One can work based on different systems (GMaps, TomTom, Here/Garmin) and then create the required file for different satnav brands/software, including TomTom Drive and even Harley Davidson, whatever that means.
Last year I mapped two seveners' holidays and it worked well. They were using 2 Garmins and one Tom Tom (yeah, I know 2 cars and 3 satnavs, crazy!)

Mind you, I still prefer the traditional map stop and force the satnav to go where I want and through the roads I intend to go. I like to have some freedom to explore tough I understand I take things a bit differently because I usually don't have a fixed schedule with night stops booked.

This is one of those themes where each person has its own way of doing things.

Cheers,
Andre

Hedge:
Look, I've never been able to understand how you lot get the routes we drive onto SatNav. All that Sygic and Tyre stuff is black magic to me. So I've got a new Tom Tom and this year I'd really like to be able to follow along on the SatNav instead of having to keep up with Stuart so I know where I'm going. ()

So wadda I do?

Are you sure the TomTom version you have can use pre-planned routes?
As Uncle Albert knows, not all have that capability...

Tom Tom wouldn't work for me either hedge so took steves advice and brought a cheap phone with sygic, just got to learn how to use the phone now
Heard from smutts tonight and i will join him on the 5 th and meet with all the bog club en route.
Couldn't make long johns dates due to work, the shorter trip ticks the boxes so this is now what i will do.
Who has the voo doo rope, think I'm going to need it.
Not long now.see you there if not before.

As per Steve's recommendation I'll pick up a cheap Android phone from Ebay (£40) & add sygic (i currently use fruit based products but will use the android phone just as a sat nav) this hopefully will eliminate some of the stress........obviously the sat nav can't stop me from running too deep in to a corner & going through a Hedge.......or into Hedge......or following Hedge through a Hedge

Don't worry about following Hedge, he will have no idea your there.....
Also have a cheap Android phone just for the SatNav. If you have an option, try to get a phone with a compass feature as this can help the Satnav GPS ,but not vital at all.
Looking forward to following Teabag.... one speed all the way.. flat out.

PS have a new set of Toyo R888r's ready to the trip......might be needing them.
PPS So glad to see you in the trip Frank... one for he road.
