Got bored, and also slightly worried about running an open cam-belt...

Just remember the 'link' has to end in .jpg, .png, or similar - which usually means when you look at the image to extract the URL link it will be just a piccy in the browser - no other 'stuff' visible on the page...

Got round to taking a photo of my new one.

Easy to take off and refit, held on with 7 nuts on stainless rubber lined "P" clips which are simply fixed round the tubes (just like the old one was).

But the old one was a cut up Partners waste bin, worked a treat but looked a bit tatty, this is much more bling.

Why not?

Its going to stop any stones getting into the area where the cam bets etc is and since it is perforated it still allows air in to keep the are well ventilated. Pretty much exactly the same as the one I took off only better looking and that has worked perfectly for about 5 years.

For any stone to get through the 6mm holes they would have to perform some incredible manouver.

If you are referring the sump being lower its not intended as a sump guard, never has been, never will be.

Now this looks look a fine idea to copy. What thickness plate did you chaps use? Has it had any negative affect on air flow/cooling? Ian

I used a very thin aluminium sheet, as it is not a skid plate...

As for cooling, it has actually helped!!!

I think that is due to their now being less turbulence behind the radiator, so air flow through the rad is improved.
Either way, the result has been a noticeable drop in engine temp - to the point I have changed the thermostat to an 88deg one, from 82deg.
