The candles on my 7 really need to be improved.

Firstly can anybody recommend a simple bulb upgrade?

Secondly I have noticed that when switching to main beam the low beam turns off, not the best system! Oddly the exact same thing happens when I occasionally use my works Vauxhall Vivaro van. By holding the flash switch down this has the desired effect of lighting up all the road like any other car's main beam. Is there a simple solution to this odd system?

On my Defender, I changed my standard lenses for clear ones. Helped a lot. Also changed the bulbs for some of Philips. Very happy now.
I'll have a look what type they are tonight.

Will be trying all this on my Caterham as well.
