Am in contact with the original owner, my goodness he has some stories to tell, including driving topless(you know what mean) in Norway during the '70's before laying the car up..he is copying some period slides for me.

Also owner 2 who has the original owners manual and 'other stuff'.. I will visit them both in the car I think..

What fun!

Bootiful!

I do like that classic alu and BRG look, though surely the wide rear wings are S3, not S2?

Looks like an early case of 'upgraditis'...

Perhaps. I don't think they are S3 but they are wider than some S2's. I will compare them next to my S3 when I finally get the S2 home.

What axle does it have?

IIRC they went to the wide wings as used on the S3 with the change to the Escort RS type axle, which was wider.

Over here, a lot of the restorations done use the very early curved profile rears, (even on the S3,) though they must be a modified design as S1 wings would never fit over the RS axle.

Here's an original S1 showing the design of the S1 wing...

and a French Lotus Seven S2...same profile, but widened. This is the wing they use on almost all restos now.

Slightly wider wings were suppiled to S2's if the slightly wider wheels were fitted.
Different to the S3.
