Thursdays (but not 23 or 30 Oct) are fine for me (and preferred to a weekend event)
re venue, isn't it (more or less; assuming certain basic quality and hygiene criteria are covered) irrelevant?
It's the people that matter...
The last one's food was very special but given the "pre-loading", we didn't do the food justice and having been to Benares with a far more restrained group, I came away thinking I'd just been to nothing more than a pretentious overpriced curry house. It was nice but how much...?
I have had great nights with mates that have been beers at the Wellington near Waterloo station (big, noisy after-work pub but has very-well kept Fuller's beers) and then next door but one to the Thames Tandorri for a good old ruby at a sensible price.
