I've got a motec ADL3. It's digital dash, data logger and everything all built into one. Swaps data with the engine ECU (mbe9A8) and the gearbox ECU (mbe 998) by one canbus, talks to the power distribution module, lambda and shift lights by another canbus, talks to the GPS by serial RS232 and to the laptop by ethernet. Serious bit of kit. There's three pages to choose from road, race and warmup. Each page is fully configurable and customisable. Silly money though.
Our brothers got a Race Technology Dash 2. Fraction of the cost but a real pain to set up, the software is a nightmare compared to the motec dash manager software. But once it's done it does the same job.
I like them because you can hide all the data you don't need and just have it flash up when there's a problem. I don't want to look at three different gauges every 30 secs to confirm there's no water temp, oil temp or oil pressure issues. I only want to know when there is and I want to know now, not when I get round to looking at the gauges again. |
