Ok about time I started a couple of service items so decided to change the oil tonight.
Step 1 find the old oil can and remove the sump plug. Ahh can't get the sump plug out....
Step 2 look around the garage for a bit, find a box with the last of the home brew. Start drinking beer.

Sump plug still stuck...... but don't care now.......

OK now my head has cleared, any suggestions on removing a stuck sump plug. Left overnight with WD40. Trying to resist the urge to just try brute force

There must be a better way to open a bottle of plonk.

I like this unhurried approach to vehicle maintenance.
Colouring in is 'work'?

OK sump plug out, etc... Now time to change filter. Ahhhh after finally changing the engine mounts from the old design made of cheese access with the alternator under the carbs is restricted.... OK should have just given in and removed the alternator, but after much time and stress filter changed. Doing a quick check and "what's that wire hanging off the back of the alternator?" Yep alternator off to recrimp cable..... Sometimes I just love working on my car
