Hello all,

Steve (scowler) here, finally joined this evening.

I'm sitting here chomping at the bit to get my 7 Supersport back from Caterham after its post build check and IVA. Having spent a really enjoyable summer building it at a nice leisurely pace and finishing it in September I thought I would get a chance to drive it before the winter set in but no such luck. VOSA have introduced what is looking like a 3 month delay due to reasons within their control such as zero communication, back log and inertia. The only thing they told me was that there was already going to be a 2 week delay before they would look at my application. The furthest I've driven it was out of the garage and onto the trailer.

So I've read "The Maginficent 7" front to back, drank loads of tea out of my "7" mug, watched endless Youtube videos of 7's vs everything going, dream't of dry and sunny weather and now the bad weather is here have become paranoid that my 7 chassis will start rusting away even though it hasn't been on the road yet. If things go on for much longer I may have to order a 7dna jacket.

Looking forward to getting involved in the 7 thing over the coming year....s.

Hello All!! Happy New Year. Bit late I know.

Just saw this site on my surfing travels, and the name rings a bell now. Must of heard of the site somewhere. Liking the build and look, and see some familiar friendly names here, which is encouraging.

I'm Bradders btw. Owned my ex Academy Seven for coming up to two years in a few weeks. Still haven't lost any enthusiasm for the little beast.

Live up North in Geordieland, so very lucky to have some lovely access to the roads in the Lakes and the North Yorky moors.

Looking forward to see how this forum turns out but I must say it looks great!!

Bradders.

Hi Folks
Another new poster here
Hibernating in the cold yet dry north
I compete in the Northern Saloon and Sports Car Championship which is a mixed bag for all car types, predominantly saloon cars
Im hoping to do a few of the BARC Front engined rear wheel drive sports car series events this year
My car is a road legal 1600 Westfield SEiW using a Ford Sigma engine and Caterham 6 speed box
It's better to ahve owned a Seven and sold it than to never have owned a Seven at all

Good afternoon my fellow 7-dna fetishists!

Ian Conibear (Durabang) got me into this forum having enticed me with the 2014 BARC front engine - rear drive series he is organising and lo and behold it seems there are quite a few of you based around the Herts / Bucks area where I live. So I will hope to meet a few of you in person at some point this year!

I have raced Caterham 7s in the JCC Centurion Challenge a few years ago but have never owned one!
But I have owned & raced Sylvas for over 20 years, starting off with a 1700 XFlow Leader in the early 1990s, before building a Fury in 1996 which I still have.
The Fury has a tuned/dry sump Vauxhall/Cosworth XE on 45DCOEs, SBD Airbox, hand built exhaust, MBE ignition, and runs a Caterham 6 speed gearbox, English LSD, Racelogic traction control, and either R500 magnesium rims or Minilites depending on whether I have slicks or wets on. Best 1/4 mile was a 12.1 at 110mph

Some pics here, but you can find more in the gallery on my website http://www.rearwheeldrive.co.uk/gallery.html

Hello there. I assume I'm pretty much in the minority here in that I am yet to own a Seven.
To introduce myself, I'm an illustrator, graphic designer and author of kid's books. Live in Leicestershire and am married with a 20 year old son.
My intention is to get hold of a Caterham Seven in the next few weeks. I plan to give the car to my son in about four years on his 25th, hopefully so he can have a good many years enjoyment out of it. In the interim, I'll be keeping the oil circulated with the occasional father/son bonding driving expedition around some of the tastier UK roads. I make no boasts as to my driving abilities. I'm no racing driver and primarily enjoy twisty B roads rather than circuit driving.
I don't get to drive anywhere near as much as I'd like, however, working from home does give me the luxury of being able to get out for a drive at pretty much any time or day, as long as I'm not trying to meet a deadline.
That's me.
Colouring in is 'work'?
