I have 781bhp in the garage....

CSR 260
S3 E-Type V12
Mk3 Focus ST

Ironically the one with the worst emissions (jag, 15mpg) is the cheapest to tax and the best (CSR, 30mpg) is the most expensive!

Which is why I drive the 7 more than the tintop, daft isnt it ?, the insurance on the tintop is 4 times more than the 7, the tintop being a Volvo is as you would expect from Volvo very safe as is driver safety and crash protection, the 7 on the other hand isnt, oh to be a car insurance company, they must be rolling in it ! , now all I need to find now is a pre 1973 Lotus 7 , I would be laughing all the way to the bank with free tax as well.....

I used to work for one and they don't make as much money as you might think. The main problem is the cost of repairs and court awards for damages, which go up with increasing regularity.

7s tend to be cheaper to insure as most drivers are enthusiasts, they don't get stolen that often and drivers are only too aware of the risk of hitting something = lower likelihood of a claim, so cheaper to insure.

I suppose being on the inside does give you a different take on it, it's just the crash for cash stuff, and that fake whiplash affair does my head in to be honest, why should I have to pay more just because someone else makes a dodgy claim, I have seen the tintops premiums rise by around 50% over 10 years I have owned the same car, it's one ( or was when it was new) of the safest cars out there and I do very little mileage these days, they wont put me on a Classic car policy either for limited mileage despite the car being eligible due to its age, the reason being ( and this was their own words) that there are still so many of my model in daily use they would lose out, I wont giveaway the insurer in that particular case to save their embarrassment , so just because my Volvo was well built i have to pay more, that is what gets me about the industry.

Caterham Roadsport 175 - took the opportunity of the offer of the 40 Years Of Caterham model in ruby red with all the free goodies.
Got No.40/40

Wife loves her BMW Z3 - quirky in Pink with reg K155 PNK - That will teach her to want it resprayed but not in blue which was the original colour
She always told me I could have a Porsche but only if it was Pink - see how she likes it !

Black BMW 7 series - mileage poor as it has the 4L V8 petrol engine - goes like stink for such a land barge but petrol and road fund high cost.

Cobra Replica - with fixed hard top in style of Le-Mans racers - V8 Ford - Not on road as still having red tape issues with imported from S.Africa and IVA
Built around BMW M3 donor parts - so handles correctly - unlike many of the Ford or jaguar based units.
I love this monster but losing the will to live with it due the red tape.

In Abydoohs - have a Chevrolet Malibu !! Sounds rubbish but actually is not a bad saloon car + a Volvo 4x4 - petrol at around 15 Gb pounds a tank full !!
