Tidy up the underside of the car, its 3 years old , 17000 miles and is now showing some wear and tear on the bars at the rear of the car in front of the petrol tank area. do they do a brush on paint to tidy these areas and if so anyone had a go at this and throw a few pointers my way, i guess some rust treatment, primer and paint, but do they do a all in one paint to speed up the time spent in the garage.

Thankyou.

I've never 'painted' the chassis tubes, but I do regularly coat in a protective substance.
Previously I've used waxoil, but this year I'm using ACF50, as discussed on a thread here.

Mind you, it does nothing for the 'look' of chipped tubes!

I used POR15 from holden classics. It comes in small pots as once it's opened the lid glues itself on for the next time.

I've removed the A frame, rubbed it down with emery cloth and have brushed on three coats of Smoothrite. It's currently sat on the radiator in the kitchen hardening off before refitting it. Next I'll try and do the same with the other rear chassis members - will be a bit more tricky and certainly won't be able to let them cure on the radiator.

Not as much fun as removing the windscreen for the first time and trying to get my hand up behind the dash on the passenger side to try and pull some slack for the windscreen wire - I actually thought I was stuck at one stage!
