well for racing - think they should ban anything that isn't petrol, couldnt believe it when i wnet back to LM after an 8 year absence and 'heard' the diesel Audi's.......can only imagine that barring the sheer spectacle then it would be like listening to a scalextric session on steroids in they all go that way in the future.......
for around Town - yeah if i lived in a City i'd def be looking at the elec route, was talking to a guy in Holland, he reckoned that his compnay car - a Prius saves him a small fortune, zero tax and around town he reckoned he gets something daft like 70miles per litre as he's able to use elec most of the time. i had a quick look recently as had half a mind to change the diesel saab that we have as Mrs G is racking up miles these days and it only returns about 42/43.......was surprised that many of the medium sized cars seem to ( on paper) be returning 70+, whilst the hybrids arent much better - ( depending on useage?)
ultimately no idea what the answer is.....frankly will worry about it when it happens.......all the while i can source and afford to stick petrol into the Tiger i'm not too bothered, and by the time that changes, i suspect that my interest in performance driving will have waned anyway.....
