What's it like to work on the car after it's covered in a thin layer of wax oil? I can imagine having to wipe it off before doing anything.

My engine and diff were also covered in salt. The rear and side panels are bare aluminium and were corroded outside as well as inside against the chassis. The car looked like it was just recovering from a bad bout of chicken pox!

Just how far can you go in covering things with wax oil?

I never find it a problem - when it's dry it not that 'oily'.

I cover all alloy items with it - stops all corrosion
