Just curious as to what other machines you folks are running,

Currently in our household are ;

The 1995 Caterham 7 HPC
2010 Jaguar XF 3ltr SWMBO daily driver
1986 Citroen 2cv6 special. My 5th 2cv, my daily driver, what can I say , you either understand or you don't.
1997 Mercedes sprinter LWB pikey wagon
1959 Triumph Tiger 100 , 500cc twin with a Watsonian Monza chair. recently passed to me from my Dad, been in the family since 1960!! Mothballed in 1979.

Pictures of some to follow, I've tried various photos sharing sites and they are all doing my freaking nut in.

If you right click the image in PhotoBucket you will see 'View Image' in the list of Windows option that appear by the cursor...
Select that,a nd then use the URL from that view of the image, as that is the image only...

(Oh, and don't use such a big image for your signature!!!)

I'll try pictures when I'm not on the iPad, I'm developing a love hate relationship with it .

Westyowner, I used to have a 740 estate, I loved it, maybe I shouldn't have ,but I did , squeaky fan belt an all. Up there with the comfiest cars I've had.

In addition to the Westfield, I have an '86 944 turbo that has seen better days and is probably going to turn into a project car, a 993 Carrera 2, and a 1st generation MX5. The latter was intended to be just a track car, and has a bunch of suspension and safety mods to support that, but it's really grown on me, so it now shares daily driving duties with the 993.

I did once own a cracking one, LPT that had been played with a bit, went like stink... I used it towing my comp car/ trailer around and would regularly forget I was towing anything such was the torque...Should never have sold that one, was a keeper.... oh well.

In the office waiting for customer remote server software updates to complete, hence some lengthy posts from me recently...

The Mrs and I share cars and we tend to keep them 10+ years in most cases. In the garage we have:

Roadsport Sigma 125. A return to the 7 fold last year after an absence of 12 years. Always knew we'd get another one. A bit underpowered but fun fun fun wringing its neck without killing myself. Bound to get upgraded at some point when funds permit.

996 Carrera 2. Owned for getting on 10 years now, so depreciation has been eye watering. Engine hasn't gone bang yet, but apparently they all do at some point. Perhaps not as pure as a 993 and not as slick as a 997, but the much unloved 996 is a great car IMHO. Like the 7, we need a 911 in our lives.

SLK 230. The original model in A1 condition. Great for cruising and very comfortable long distance. No hair-care products are left in this vehicle overnight etc. Might go next year as Mrs is hankering after an Evoque.

Mini One. Bought cheap with the scrappage scheme (scrapped a lovely Merc W124 E320 coupe that sadly tuned to rust). Perfect for school and shopping runs. Daughter will get to drive it when she turns 17 in 2 years. Possibly the only Mini sold in Cambridgeshire with absolutely no options – the dealer put on an Oscar winning performance trying to get those boxes ticked.

Probably not a coincidence that 2 favourite cars have roots going back 50 years.

I would be into 7's but too fat and too poor! ...... but yes with son James we pick the bones out a barn full of crap 5's

Main project is a 1/40 rare Hayashi Roadster (sort of Porsche 944 looking) - currently in bits
Family wagon/day van/tow-track wagon is a '94 Nissan Homy
swmbo - diesel Corsa (oh, the power!)
3 5's for killing/selling including one with an FTO look, another with retro look, and one which is resembling a trampoline at the mo'

added up they are all worth less than le Presendente's bar bill!

garcon

might add that Bounty friend "Eddie" (...he who will never darken Pistonheads's pages again ), has just bought a MEV Excocet ...kind of Atomesque vehicle using complete MX5 running gear. Do they count as DNA? ... might get one one day. Interestingly TR Lane are also developing a 7esque kit, again using the full mx5 doner gear.
