This new forum looks to be shy of Westfield owners and people from the Colonies, so figured I'd join and address both issues

I've owned my Westfield for over 12 years, but completed a total rebuild in late 2004, replacing and improving virtually everything but the frame, so effectively Westfield #2. Not sure if any USA2005 alumni are here, but if so, we may have met along the way. Looking forward to participating in the new forum!

Here's one of my favorite pictures of the car. A friend with a Caterham and I did a tour in 2010 from the Monterey Historic Races in California to my home near Seattle. As we approached the end of day 1, we had slowed the pace considerably, but were still traveling at a pretty decent clip. After a bit we were tracked down by a rapidly driven Jetta that was cutting corners to keep us in sight. Turns out the teenage passenger was a huge fan of se7ens and his mom was driving like hell to keep up, eventually pulling up behind us when we stopped to check the GPS. He was a very nice kid, really enthusiastic and knew cars well, so I gave him a 10 mile ride at speed after he worked up the courage to ask. I took this photo after we pulled over and were saying our goodbyes.

I can see we are going to get along nicely given the first paragraph of your Westfield page..... nice one..

Our cars then appear the same vintage give or take the odd year or so, mine being a 94, and a narrow and a live axle..... the not the same at all are they, lol.........

Nice spec as well , as soon as the old Xflow goes pop, I will more than likely move over to something more 21st Century, but will miss the noise only a Xflow can make.., its my first 7 type car I have owned all the rest being smallish British Sports cars from the 60's, shame I never discovered 7's 25 years ago....

I still miss that aspect of my crossflow. Four cylinders have no right sounding so good.

Try a Zetec - I have 210BHP in Eugene, and it sounds just like a Crossflow, without the associated problems

What the self emptying oil system ?, I quite like that , saves me undoing the sump plug...., keeps the chassis rust free too, lol.....

I've heard a number of zetecs over the years. They sound pretty good too, but the only way to hear crossflow-quality sonics when behind the wheel of such a beast is to wait for a crossflow-powered car to pull along side...and then shut off your engine!
