is this a two day route?
I would peel off at Perigueux at head through Angouleme to my house (near Bressuire on your map - I know a good route from Angouleme) and meet up for the lunch at the cafe de france and back to le Bounty from there

can't wait ...

bilbao to Perigueux looks like 570km .. avoiding peage they say 9.5 hours .. we would need to shave a bit off that!

65.55 € avec un véhicule Essence
Péage 0.00 € | Carburant 65.55 €

Temps
09h29 dont 01h29 sur autoroutes
Distance
570 km dont 142 km sur autoroutes
Impact Trafic
+24 mn à 9:33

and anyone who does it for 65Euros worth of petrol gets drummed out of leBog

JV, all my routes are two day routes - for those doing 3 day ones you'll have to manage your own, although I'll provide my routes as a starting point

I've just worked out another possible route that's looking rather interesting, and heads more via Angouleme

Ok - next route suggestion...

Route

This would probably have an overnight stop around Chalais.

I've also made the initial route along the coast, but obviously any bits of the three options can be mixed and matched.
The slightly more inland route may be better, as it is less built-up than the coast route

Any more thoughts?
If anyone wants the route files to play with in Tyre let me know!

While I generally like coastal routes, I suspect I will have seen enough of the sea by the time we get to Bilbao
