Sometimes reading posts on Blatchat makes me want to wring necks. I refer to Eugene's post about monthly meets. Have some got the hump about 7 DNA?

Everyone is a critic and/or keyboard warrior, just some decide to do something about it.

In reference to Eugene's post on BC, which obviously I can't join in with... But it's not just a Cat7 thing, even at my local WF meets the numbers have been dropping, I don't go that much myself ( so I am a fine one to comment) but most of it is down to finances both in fuel and taxes, on some good meets in the height of summer we may get 24 or so cars, but most of those are from neighbouring counties ( that call in en-route whilst blatting) . With fuel costs as they are "our" cars are now an expensive toy, much like motorbikes are as well, gone are the days when a motorbike was a cheap form of transport, I haven't ridden a bike for 25 years now and just looking at the price of them and the associated costs in running one, again a dear way of getting about... Although having said all that, I can run my 7 far cheaper on a yearly basis than my tintop, insurance being the killer on the tintop...

I have tried to be as fair as possible with regard to the 7 Club, both here and on BlatChat, but I have posted my last there now.

7-DNA may or may not survive - that depends on those that post here, and make it what is may become.
But, my enjoyment of my 7 really does have little to do with any club any more.
I wish all the best to the 7 Club, but after some 24 of membership years it really is time to change.

Here's to the future, and what ever it brings.
Hopefully fun times with fun people!

I really can't understand the animosity shown by some on BC towards 7DNA. They are totally different animals in my book but with a common link.

That is our view too - and we made that suggestion to the 'team', and have stated as much on our home page, with a link to the 7 Club...

But, the response from 'the team' (other than Jamie, who as very sensible and really did understand what 7-DNA is all about) was to simple blank the whole thing, and ban any mention on BlatChat...
Really petty minded and stupid

But, let's move on and see what 7-DNA becomes, if it survives at all...

Have no illusions, we have no 'intentions' for 7-DNA - it will live or die based on those that contribute.
All the likes of Hatter and I will do is manage the underlying needs of the forum - keeping the forum available, and fixing any issue with the technology, etc.
If the volume of postings, and spam attaches, increases we will ask for others to help with this.
At the moment we have good anti-spam tools in place, but if the posting volume increases we will need additional help - but not just yet

here's to the future!

I didn't realise that mentioning this forum had been banned on BC. Might as well ban mentioning Westies, Tigers etc. How shortsighted that is. I feel a rant coming on.
One thing I have noticed that this website doesn't stay signed on with my mobile after a couple of days. Other forums I use do. That's my only criticism I have so far and I think you and the insane milliner are doing a good job.

Yup - a number of threads have been deleted for mentioning 7-DNA...
And Hatter and I have been sent some very 'interesting' personal e-mails from members of the 'team', as well as there being weirdly aggressive discussions on the area organiser's private forum.

But seriously, let's just move on and see where 7-DNA leads to.
Thinking about this is getting me rather hot under the collar...

I'll have a look at the log-in time-out - I can probably change that????

I can't either Toby, I find it very strange that supposed car enthuseiasts can be so pathetic, maybe the ones that have a gripe aren't actually car enthuseiasts at all, but run a Caterham as a 'look at me aren't I cool' kinda way. Ok I can get that, there's a bit of that in my ownership, you can't get away from the fact that they are cool, and different. However, personally I like all sorts equally, for Christ sake my other baby is the 2cv , I love to chew the fat with anyone over different Marques and that's why I find 7 DNA so appealing, I wave to and love to natter with owners of Westfields ,Tigers ,Ariel Atoms, whatever they are all enthuseiasts cars and so share a common interest. I've decided I won't be renewing when my membership runs out. For 1 thing I never go to club meets ( was put off by my first visit,I won't slag em off , they were just not my kinda people) I once went on a organised blat with the Peak District area bunch which was awesome, great laugh. but I can do that and not be in the club, the north east seven lads are hoot and Great to go for a blat with, but I rarely see them posting anymore which is a shame, I suspect they have moved away from the club for the same reasons I am., to be honest I would have left ages ago but I like to share laughs on tinternet and read others posts and now thanks to 7 DNA I can do that still. Cheers Eugene and mad hatter
Interestingly, thinking about it, the most posted on thread on Blatchat in recent years was the model Spitfire build some of us got into, that was brilliant , nowt to do with cars but a common interest, how bizzare .

I'm also leaving the country next Feb but thats another story.......I'll be posting about it soon on here when it's 100% set in stone. Bloody excited though folks, it's been a loooooooong time coming and after many changes of plans for 1 reason or another it's finally happening, all I can say is it involves horse **** and caravans.

Where's our Kenny these days Toby? I hope he joins us on here , I need to speak to him anyway re e fags.

I've just sussed it ! they are just jealous of the smileys we get to use

Well, I used to have a lot of respect for folks on BC,but having just read a post by someone who calls him / herself Higgs Boson, I can only assume that he thinks that owners of mixed 7 types can't have a open forum.... Why is that eh.... Seems to me that he / she is just attempting to stir the honey pot somewhat, but sorry Mr/ mrs / miss Boso you seem to be very much misguided.... Maybe they are your own views perhaps...
There goes another saved bookmark to the bin...

Better not let that poster find out that there is a Cat7 owner that is a member of the WSCC either, so we can't get along eh...???
