Thanks! It dawned on my that my respray of blue with red stripe and my ability to wear my underpants over my trousers could make for a super(man) 7 motif for the car.

yeah it's cool, the diamond shape kinda mirrors the Lotus Triangle affair... You wear your undies over your pants as well, thank god for that, i thought it was me going mad

Never made it to any of the Chepstow meets. Did a couple of the Nomads meets though. Should really get to more but life/work gets in the way somewhat.
We did the 2006 Big Welsh Blat ... which was probably that last big thing I did before taking the car off the road which has just made me realised how long I've (not) been rebuilding it!

Hoping to get it finished by the end of the year so come the spring I'll take you up on the offer of a run out

Taffia 2006 Big Welsh Blat - Me too though not in the Lotus S4 coz the engine had seized, I did it in my Orange Dutton Phaeton s3, still have the sticker from that blat on my garage wall, The Dut was featured/pictured in the low flying mag in the write up of the event!!
Spring Blat it is then - look forward to it

Despite doing the car show scene for many years, I have never seen a Dutton up close, are they vaguely 7 based in chassis design or something else ?,

Awesome - many thanks, neither the wife or I are in the shot! let me know your reg no. I probably have a shot of your car.

Yep the dutton is loosely based on the lotus 7 S4 - it has a similar front forward opening bonnet, chassis was duttons own, the donor car was Mk1 or 2 Escort mine started with a webered pinto, upgrade to 2.1pinto BV head 300cam etc etc ,and 5 speed type 9 supposedly 165BHP, more likely 130! Then totally rebuiltand resprayed orange with standard 2 litre injected zetec, 5speed sc cr box and LSD it was the standard 130 bhp zetec that made me realise that the pintos 165 was total bollox. the pinto got 21mpg and the zetec 35+ this converted me to modern injection engines never looked back since My dutton was featured in several KC mags back in 1990's

Thanks once again , I know a lot of folks knock them, but never understood why, they always went well on the sprint and hillclimb courses, gave my aging old Triumph a run for its money on many occasions.. but being in a different class to me in the paddocks I never got close to one, just seeing the times they did was the closest I got..

You do realise that the SuperMan 7 Logo is 7-DNA property...
