Hi folks,
I'm looking at swapping out my crossflow to a zetec, having had a search around for suitable 'black top' engines I see that there are a lot more 1.8 size engines available and the 2.0 are quite scarce these days. Apart from the obvious capacity size which would make a difference on power, does anyone know if there are any other major differences that would make one more suitable than the other? I had initially sort a 2.0 but not essential as this is not for a track day monster, just a nicely powerful (more than the x flow) fast tourer. Car already has a type 9 gearbox so should all bolt up quite nicely.
I'm also looking at the 'Rakeway' driveshaft upgrade to the Ital axle, unless there are other options?

Personal choice, but if you're going to the effort of making the swap, would be worth tracking down a 2.0L...
But as far as I know, there is no real difference between the two, other than the capacity.
I'm sure both are the same block, just with different cylinder sizes?

Although I have the Rakeway conversion, I ran without it for many years after installing the Zetec.
Only did the upgrade as I 'thought' I should... as well as getting a Quaif ATB...
