Just had a replacement alternator sent out here to france , new one has only 3 spade connectors where old one had a 4th wire running from the alternator to the loom, this 4th connection was not alongside the 3 main ones on the back of the alternator. any one know what it is? everything seems to be functioning with it not connected ,is it possibly an extra earth wire? Xe red top. thanks in advance for any comments .

I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locus. It wasn't my fault. I swear to god!

Hi Trotsky
The spare connector on the back of the Alternator is live ,it was used on production vehicles but not needed on sevens
just ignore, tuck any wires out of the way and keep on driving .
