1.8 K Series, Dry Sump (in bell housing) with a half litre oil catch tank attached to the engine side of drivers foot well, with a gauze breather on the top. This was all installed middle of last year by a well known competent independent 7 engineer. I have noticed the catch tank breather allows oil vapour to escape, which gradually coats the back of the engine, bellhousing etc in an oily film, and occasionally, after an enthusiastic blat, will drip down the outside of the tank. Engine is all o.k. having recently been checked over by Dave Andrews (DVA Power) when he installed a VHPD Head.
Any suggestions of how to eliminate the escaping oil vapour making such a mess? |
