In the not too distant future I'm going to need some new tyres for Eugene...
I've been using A021R's, but they are no longer road legal.

So, as I really prefer 70 profile tyres on Eugene I've been looking around, and Kumho now offer the V70 in 185/70/13 sizes, in a range of compounds from super soft, through soft, to medium and hard.

My question is, has anyone had experience of this tyre on a Caterham or 7esque car?

Like the A021, the V70 is also no longer 'E' marked. The only road legal 'track' tyre that come in 13 inch Caterham sizes is the Toyo R888 and the new R888r. That said, the Kumho is available as 1c motor sport tyre, and is very good in a soft compound, but I don't think the 185/70 is available in supersoft. Soft will work well in damp conditions but, for road use, they are a bit specialist with reduced thread depth (4mm) from new, and standing water conditions does need care.

Edit to add: The Avon ZZS is also legal, but I've no experience of that tyre yet.

Are you sure?
All resellers I have spoken to have said the V70 tyre is E marked and fully read legal...

That's my understanding. But there's so much confusion about track tyres at the moment, who knows what's correct. I was told that they haven't manufactured any since the rules on noise changed. But there does seem to be plenty of 'E' marked stock available at the moment, and possibly some OE sizes are still produced. So, before you buy, ask your supplier to confirm the date of manufacture stamp.

I'm actually not in a rush...
I have enough tread on the existing 021Rs to last well into next year.
I'm just looking around for ideas in preparation.
