Just brought first caterham and look for some views on best looking wheels to buy. All views are welcome. Cheers Scotty.

Being old I like the classic wheels. My first Caterham had Revolutions on it and I loved them. Current Caterham had Superlights on when I built it but still pined for the Revolutions. Unfortunately the original company had ceased trading and the ones available at the time were made in China out of cheese. About 12 years ago I spotted a set of 5 6 x 14 5 spoke Revo's on E-Bay complete with decent Yoko 021's, local as well. The chap selling them had no idea what they were and nobody bothered to put a bid in, got them for £120. They were pretty much immaculate, polished rims, tyres had 3mm on and lasted about a year but the spare had never even been fitted onto a hub, just a few ,marks where it had been fitted to the spare wheel carrier. Date code was 1989 so probably originally supplied by Caterham. Still on the car and will be for the foreseeable future, providing you can get decent 14" tyres.

Thanks for your help, like the minilites as a lot of caterham a have them on. To many to choose from, that's my problem.

The Image Billet 93 on Seven Speed are very popular as light but with the strength of aluminium alloy rather than magnesium alloy and the hassle that goes with stopping and crack testing every year.

Either Image Billet 93 or Force Racing SLT... so hard to pick that buying one set of each would be better

I've just bought some satin black Compomotive CXRs, I think they look pretty nice.

I think the colour of the car makes a difference too, I've see a few red 7s with gold wheels that look very nice!

I have to say I love the wheels on Eugene!

Minilite reps in any colour are good. The only wheels I have had reservations about on a Seven are the 15" Prisoners, but if you should happen to be in the Land of the Cuckoo-clock, you'll notice that the signature Seven garb is....polished Prisoners, Brooklands screens and a leather flying hat.

I fitted the ones that were on our current car, an SV, to a SuperSprint 1700 we had....after polishing the centres.

It looked great and now lives on the Riviera.



It had a strap on the back as the spare nearly fell off on a hill...



I like the grille and paint on Eugene....who did those?

The 'special' grilles are made by a 7-DNA member...

The 'paint' is of my doing, and is actually sticky-backed plastic

I'm surprised it doesn't blow off the heatshield!

Unusual screen on the red car here...is it glass or Lexan?
