Fitted the blanking plate and the heater this weekend. Trying to figure out the best place for the battery and the ECU. Anyone got ideas about this?

where... by Tookaphotoof, on Flickr

Also, trying to figure out the routing of the throttle cable. Seems so tight to the pedal box.
Anyone with a lhd Duratec or rhd k-series with throttle bodies who can show me a couple of photos?

I NEED TO FIX MY *****!!!!

Best position for the battery is the shortest cable run to the starter motor, so preferably in the middle of the bulkhead, where your heater was.
Best position for the ECU, and to make a tidy job is looking at the photo, turn the ECU around 180 degrees so the multi plug is facing the centre of the car.
Regarding throttle cable, if you can obtain cable that is appears to be too long, run it forward under the throttle bodies, do a big loop and come up under the throttle bodies, so you have a smooth long curve in the cable.
This may sound wrong but it should work out OK.

Thanks!

I'll put the battery on the same side as the Emerald, I guess.
I'll have a fiddle with the throttle cable coming weekend.

Thanks Steve!
I guess you put the ecu in the cabin?

It's not my car, but I suspect it will be behind the engine where the heater would go. I'll see if I can find any other examples.

Yes, in my case I already have the heater behind the engine (see photo above).
I'm thinking maybe i'd be wise to put the ecu against the scuttle and find another bracket to lay the battery flat where I now have the Emerald?
