So having decided not to carry on into Roadsports next year it is time to sell my 1 year old Academy car and then get my other 7 back to tip-top order for a season of trackdays next year.
The car was built by me, post build checked by CC mids (no additional work required), IVA'd in Nottingham and registered in Dec 2012. Academy spec means Sigma 125 engine, 5 speed box, full cage, side impact bar, Tillet seats, harnesses, FIA switch, plumbed in extinguisher, no spare wheel, adjustable platform suspension, 13" wheels, Avon CR322 tyres and a rain light. To this I added a red start button, full doors (no hood) racetech mirrors on the stanchions and Momo removable wheel. Edna was serviced at Partridge Green Motorsport who also set the car up for me. Mileage is currently 3228 miles and the car is sorn'd.
In this instance I am looking for a simple transaction so I am offering Edna for sale 'as she is' following my season of trackdays and Academy sprints/races. The price reflects this, a quick sale would suit me
Description - warts and all!
From the pictures you will see she is currently wrapped in bright green and red (not to everyones taste) and adorned with a variety of sponsor stickers. With a little effort this can all be removed of course (heat with a hairdryer and pull it off) and underneath you'll find a bare ali car with black wings and nose. The bonnet has been etch-primed though so this would be best with a coat of gloss black. One rear wing is not wrapped (as it was replaced after each bump).
The diff carrier (it's a BMW diff) can be upgraded free of charge by Caterham to the latest type which provides better clearance with the dedion tube - not essential to be done but if I was keeping it I would get it sorted. I'd book this in for the buyer if they want it done.
During my season Edna has had 2 bumps up the backside resulting in some rear panel damage that CC delicately restored with a hammer and crowbar. This is not structural and the chassis is fine, both knocks were conveniently in exactly the same place! CC thoroughly checked the chassis, suspension, dedion etc after both bumps and declared it to be fine. If I were continuing to race next year I wouldn't bother fixing it but if you want it to look nice then a new rear panel would make it so.

There is a circular 'crack' in the centre of the windscreen (not in line of sight) which happened at the first race, it hasn't got any worse so I've left it.
I had the car adapted for HANS (by Arch) which means there are 2 extra bosses in the bulkhead rail and 2 neat slots in the rear panel for the shoulder harnesses to come through. I've put the shoulder harnesses back in their correct places, the holes could be covered up with little ali panels if required.
The inertia switch is mounted on the passenger side of the tunnel for easy access, this could be put back on the front bulkhead easily enough if required.
I can't think of any other points, it all works, no other dings that I am aware of and once I'd sorted out a few niggles early on the car has been fine. Recent brake pads all round and new master cylinder.
I have 2 prices in mind - the haggling price is £16,000 or the non-haggling price is £15,000wink smiley Personally I think this makes it a brilliant bargain for someone - buy it and use it as is, or put in a couple of weekends effort and £1000 or so and it would be a fantastic first 7.
If nobody wants it then I'll do the odd jobs and readvertise in the New Year
