Time for a new brew. And yes it has to be a London Pride style beer.
Can't be as nice as the real thing but a nice easy extract brew.

A couple of days at 3'C then in the keg last night

Needs a bit of time to settle but had to have a couple for quality control. Once its had a little time to age it should b a nice light session type brew.

Been working my way through St Austell's and Sharp's offerings the last few days.

Missing cask Pride...

Looking forward to sampling this Donut!

Time for a taste test.
brew

Got a new pub style CO2 bottle so should last for a while now.
Blind taste test and.... yes there not the same but pretty close. The real brew is a little lighter with slightly more hop bitterness. Home-brew is slightly creamer with a bit more mouthfeel.
After a couple I could not tell the difference...

Yum... just finishing my bottle...

Had a can of London Pride first as reference... as you say Donut, the extra alcohol is noticeable in mouthfeel and it's a bit sweeter too (or less bitter as preferred)...

Damned good effort but just how strong is it? It tastes much more than canned Pride's 4.7%... it's almost like an LP / ESB hybrid (and that's meant as a compliment!)

A Southern Star clone next...? A bit lighter / more refreshing for a hotter climate? 31 days to sort...!

Cheers Colin, certainly a pint I will make again. Unless my SG reading was out then its only about 4.5% but it does taste feel like more.
Plans for the next brew are underway...

Just remembered, Uncle Albert and I drank the bottle you gave me on the train home...
I would say it was very nice, but I'm buggered if I can remember what it tasted like!
