CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW ROARS TOWARDS THE PREMIER DIVISION!
In 2012 over 10,000 visitors flocked to the annual two-day Classic Motor Show at Knebworth House, near Stevenage in Hertfordshire. This year the show, organised by Gemini Events, returns to the ever-popular venue on Sunday and Monday of the Bank Holiday weekend – 25th and 26thAugust.
The show once ranked among the best in the UK and Stephen Smith of Gemini Events is determined to put it back in top slot on the calendar.
'When we bought Greenwood Exhibitions in 2011, and subsequently changed the name to Gemini Events, I was told that Knebworth used to be one of the top three shows in the UK. Building on last year's success we are well on the way to getting back into premier Division! We have great support from individual owners and we would love to see more clubs joining us plus more vehicles in the commercial, military, campervan, and motorcycle categories. This is a classic MOTOR Show so all are welcome to join us.'
Stephen added 'We made a few adjustments to the layout last year and this was welcomed by both the traders and autojumblers. We also redesigned the club layouts so that all clubs now have a dedicated area, reflecting their importance as part of the show.'
Steve Redway will once again be commentating this year in his relaxed and informative style - appreciated by enthusiast and the visiting public alike. Sunday 25th is club day, when all clubs are invited to join Steve in the arena, and Monday is the Knebworth Concours competition.
There is limited club camping on site for those wanting to make a weekend of it and the Novotel on the entrance drive to Knebworth House offers special rates for enthusiast. Their number is 01438 346100 – just mention 'Knebworth Classic Motor Show' when booking.
With live commentary and family arena activities during the day plus the Knebworth children's fort and slides attraction, and the formal gardens included in the admission price, this really is a show for everyone.
Classic vehicle clubs and individual exhibitors can make great savings on the entry price to Knebworth by pre-booking – but they need to do so by 4th August. Pre-booking costs on £3 per vehicle per day and saves up to £32 on general admission tickets (rules and conditions apply, see website for details) All classics and performance vehicles arriving on the day are offered VIP parking on the show field.
