A heads up about a 5 day trip next May to Mainland Europe.
Currently we have deposits from 16 cars/drivers ( 50% are bringing their partners).

D1= Chunnel and once in France we head down towards Cambrai before a left turn into Belgium and the Ardennes, passing Chimay and then heading across to the Nurburgring. Its a 'looksee' as opposed to a 'doing' - a chance for folks to see the scale and what the fuss is all about!

D2 takes us along the Mosel valleys and then into the top of the Black Forest.......

D3 sees us in the Southern part of the Forest, dipping our toe into Switz at the Rheinfalls before pottering across to Mulhouse in France to see the famous car museum.

D4 takes us through the Vosges Mountains of Alsace to an overnight at Verdun, passing the various ww1 monuments on the way in......

D5 - back to Calais via Reims, arriving back in the UK at 18.30.

This will be the 4th 'official' SKCC Road Trip, with a range of different 'kits' ...mostly 7esque

We cover between 210-250 miles a day, broken down into bite sized chunks - all the drivers are sent a suggested route ( for sat nav - itn file) which wherever possible follows the smaller & more interesting roads, if they choose they can lop of a few miles by amending these slightly to allow for more time at a particular stop off. The Group tends to split according to interest and pace, some wanting to stop more often for photos, others enjoying the twisties - bottom line is that folks drive at their own pace and then hook up at the designated stops ( lunch/coffee/evening)......Often a Group of 20 will fracture into 4-5 smaller groups.

for a 'singleton' the trip will cost £320 - thats Hotel ( own room ) and tunnel included, the rest meals/petrol is down to each individual,......

drop me a note if interested dates are 21st may-25th May - which is the 2nd bank hol in May, meaning that drivers get the Monday to spend with the family......we'll be back in the UK Folkestone at 18.30 on the Sunday.

Day 1 is a long one (quite a bit more than the 250 miles you mention)
I am heading to Bonn solo in the 7 in November (!) and might follow the first part of your route before heading East from Cambrai.

Have fun

yep day 1 is longer than 250, its 310......but in reality we've found in the past that we normally have to have 1 longer day to knock off miles to get us 'up country' and each time we've found that we could have easily done a few more miles....so not unduly worried about it. Have planned it to the nth degree as normal at very realistic/low average speed....and it still means that we hit the Hotel that night by 6.30pm latest after sampling some of the crackers of the Ardennes and Eifel.....

Guys I have not been on this site long and have not got to know many people here. This is the perfect road trip to meet some great seven/ kit car enthusiasts, get to know them and recruit new members to this forum. I am booked, deposit paid and Mrs Crunchie is coming too. Cannot wait!

I know it is difficult for example I am going to Classic Le Mans but organised elsewhere so could not consider the Le Bog Trip.

That said if you are free and are pining for a road trip, Mark's are fantastic. He has a reputation of find great roads, and on his previous trips, even organising the weather They work for the serious blatting peeps and the less serious; with Mrs Crunchie onboard I wonder which group we will be in

If you fancy a road trip next year this is a serious contender

Hope to see some of you there.
It is all about what it's not!
