Hi, newbie here, looking to choose a kit soon! So looked at the big names first, but was drawn to a site, VM-77de. Fab pix, but very little text content, Looks like a German 7 kit car co. Very nice subtle detail differences to Caterham, the German car pix exude quality fine hand stitched leather etc, just as you would expect from a German sports car co. Does anyone here know anything about them? Are they supplying kits? So little info on the site......but having seen the photos ....I Want One!
Thanx if you could help with this, ta Rob.

Have to say I have never heard of them...

A crappy Google translate shows:

History

Establishing the VM exclusive automotive GmbH in November 1988.
In 1989, the company "VM" will be the official vehicle manufacturer
registered with its own world manufacturer number when Kraftfahrtbundesamt.
During the first years, we dealt exclusively with the design,
manufacture and distribution of the two-seat roadster Seventy Seven-
in kit form and fully assembled vehicles. The vehicle sets
were compiled in the parts warehouse and on a European dealer network the
supplied customers. To this day, so over 1000 vehicles and kits were in our
manufactured home.
Also complete vehicle were prototypes and various motor vehicle on behalf of customers designed, developed and assembled accessories.
since 2010 no "registrations" for Seventy Seven are from VM more
done. In this area, we continue to ensure optimum spare parts
supply as well as a detailed vehicle service . Due to the very special demands in our metal range we expanded our metal production in an extensive exclusive Metal, with integral tube bending and rolling department. past few years we have been working regularly for television productions, where we among other things, to realize custom-made for the Brain Pool productions. This includes several games constructions of "Schlag den Raab". Also made us for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2011 and 2012, extensive lighting and transport equipment. Also in apparatus we made in the past few years some very special designs for the field of metal catalyst Hersel Lung. We are a manageable special team with many years of know-how, which always new Herausfordeungen in various areas studied.

Not sure that helps much...

The VM77 does look interesting though.

I have also never heard of them, but they do look interesting. Reminds me alot of a westfield with all the leather.
If it turns out they do still make them. You might find they don't make a RHD chassis.
Just out of interest which model would you go for? one of the turbo's or a zetec

Not sure I want the added complexity of turbo, 2.0ltr zetec would be more than enough power, as its my first build I think I want to keep it as mechanically simple as possible, a LHD might be ok though as there is a good chance I may use it more on European roads, I look forward to getting a lot of info at Donnington. Thanx
