If I could figure out how to insert a picture, I'd put one in, but that'll have to be another day.
From Millwood Motor Co., a 2009 Roadsport Sigma 1.6 125bhp in Caterham yellow. Only done 900 miles. We checked it over yesterday and it proved to be better than I'd expected. A delightful drive and in tremendous condition.
Just a few jobs to do before I collect it - seat swap, harness and 12V socket to fit, hopefully by the end of the month.
It happened on my birthday too.
Colouring in is 'work'?

Planning a blat

Afraid to say that I haven't been for a proper blat for 3 years. Mainly due to HM's ill health and my reluctance to leave her on her own even though she is now 99% fully recovered.

I've got it in pieces at the moment and applying clear lacquer to the carbon body which has been attacked by UV. I'm also fitting a 14mm bore master cylinder to the clutch which will lower the pressure required to depress the AP twin plate clutch as well as increase the travel, both of which will be good. I've also got to remove the engine and repair the concentric slave cylinder. I'm going to cut a new groove in the piston and fit 2 slightly oversize "O" rings. At the moment the single ring leaks brake fluid but is OK with hydraulic oil.

Temperature's rising nicely and I'm planning on carying on with painting and varnishing next weekend. I've got the two rear wings to paint then I'll get the engine out and sort out the slave cylinder. I'll lacquer the body whilst the engine is out.

I'll be blatting this summer.

Not fully. I'm still updating the site but it's mostly house renovation and building.

I may take some photos of the lacquering and clutch work and add it.

However the best thing will be to take some photos on a long blat

Getting it out tomorrow. I wonder what will happen?
Will there be thousands of my adoring fans watching me wheel The Jug out or will it be a subdued affair?
Only time will tell.

Change of mind. It's grey and miserable so I'll go next week. My fans will have to wait.

I got it out. It now needs a wash. Lovely weather. I've missed the pops, bangs, rattles etc but not the whine from the diff. The only way to cure it was to keep my foot firmly planted on the throttle.

Lovely day but mines still in bits waiting for bits.

Roads are white with salt so I would not have used it anyway.

Got it out again today. Lovely weather and did 60 odd miles. Only spoilt by 6 women cyclists who insisted on cycling two abreast knowing full well there was a queue of cars behind them and didn't make any attempt to aid over taking. Most cyclists understand about mutual tolerance but this group clearly had an agenda to hold up traffic.
