Sometimes I think I'm better off binning the bloody car...
Finally happy after having some adjustments done on the rolling road yesterday. 172.7 bhp 198nm on the wheels.
On my first journey today I lost third and fourth gear within 15 minutes.

I put that sort of thing down as having to go through the F##k it cycle.

Happiness followed by enormous disappointment followed by have a beer and rant about it to a few mates followed by get the spanners out and restore huge happiness. F##k it cycle complete.

It is all a part of the 7 experience costly and painful as it can be occasionally. Super model girl friends are exactly the same alegedly

After a full year of f**k it cycles, I dumped the car in the garage for a few years.
She's up and running again after almost 5 years, so wasn't expecting this to happen.
My mates don't listen to my rants. I have to listen to their jokes instead.
Ah well, at least I can save on petrol coming weekend again.

Should have checked the gearbox myself after I got the car returned. No oil in it...
I'm guessing, totally ruined now?

Aside of the total frustration with that level of incompetence from a repairer, that must be have good grounds for full rectification at no cost by whoever did the work?

I don't envy you in getting it sorted. I had a really bad experience with a range rover several years ago and learnt that courts have to make strange decisions on occasions.

Unfortunately no news yet, but that's more to do with my own busy schedule at the moment.
Utterly frustrated, but I also realize errors are human.
Dropping the car off at them end of the week to get it all checked and sorted.

Been to the shop today. Picked up a trailer, brought the Caterham, filled the gearbox. Took a spin for half an hour. Undid the drainplug and there was some metal swarf but not too worrying.
Filled her up with some quality stuff and took her for a spin again to check. Everything seemes to work ok. I'll be keeping an eye (or ear) on it for the time coming.
Hopefully I can finally start enjoying this little beauty!

Unknowingly at the time, I drove a GT6 from Pompy to Bath without gear oil in the box. Amazingly it survived. Noisy but the thing went on for ages after serious abuse like that. It had really big chunks of metal, more fall out than drain out with the couple of teaspoons of oil that were in there.

Sometimes you just get lucky.
