In preparation for the CLM and to reduce the number of gadgets and subsequent chargers, I've downloaded Sygic GPS for my iPhone as allegedly you can import routes made in Tyre etc.

I've saved the route as an itf file and placed it in Apps->Sygic All regions in Dropbox, connected to Dropbox from within Sygic (Settings->Connection->More Options) but when I go to Load route there is nothing there

What am I doing wrong?

You have to convert the route to the Sygic format...

Not sure there is an Apple program for that. There is for PC.

I converted it on a PC using ITN Route Converter. The original file was gpx for Garmin, so I loaded into route converter and one of the options for saving/converting was Sygic GPS (itf).

If successful, should it appear as a saved route under Load Route?

I've also tried using iTunes to drag the file into the Documents section in Apps then syncing with the iPhone but still no joy

Ah - missed that... Sorry.
I have Sygic on Android, and the route has to be loaded into the "Sygic/Res/Itinery" folder to be seen.

Could that be the same in iPhone land?

Mmmmm... Sygic didn't create an Itinerary folder in Dropbox, instead I have a db folder. I'll try moving the file into the db folder and if that doesn't work, I'll create an Itineray folder and give that one a go.

The folder is not within Dropbox - especially as I don't use the sync function with my Sygic.

The folder is within the main Sygic folder, at least within Android.

Not that this is helpful at all. I use Co-pilot on iPhone as a backup to my TT, just in case it fails.

I have not been able to get the files into the itn directory in Co-pilot and a number of people have tried. I now type the co-ordinates in from Tyre. Long winded but it does work.

I am due a new phone soon so may drop the iPhone for this reason.
It is all about what it's not!

Can you get a 'File Manager' program on the iPhone?
Something that enables you to search the folders on the phone memory.
I use Astro File Manager on Android.
With that I can put any files into any folder.

Thanks Steve for giving this some further thought, I'll to have to take look in the App store to see if there is such a product for the iPhone.

Crunchie, how realistic is it following so many waypoints in Co-pilot? My concern is that if you don't stick to the route religisouly and miss a waypoint it will screw up the guidance and keep trying to take you back to the missed waypoint. Also, do you know what 'Optimise Stops' and the option 'Optimise final destination' does when you load a saved route?
