Has anyone any experience of owning or operating Mercedes Sprinter vans? I'm looking to pick up an 05 to 09 plate at auction to convert into a ************** day wagon.

They are good though, look out for usual diesel issues & whining from gearbox & diff.

Ive got a older 312 d , its ex police ( massive no expense spared service history ) a police mechanics van when in police use . lwb high top with the 5 cyl , 3 litre diesel engine its older than what your looking at but I can tell you so far it has been brilliant, bought for 2k 4 years ago (its R reg so older shape) used for many UK to south of France trips (14) rust can be a problem on all mercs. but mechanically very good, traps on easily at 90 mph but thirsty at that speed, better at 75- 80 mph. mileage now is 189000 and going strong. oh and I can fit my 2cv in the back....just....if I hit the ramp fast enough.
